Gateway to MMLE

On October 13, 2024, the ”Gateway to MMLE“ seminar provided essential guidance for aspiring doctors aiming to practice in Malaysia. Three speakers shared their experiences:

Dr. Yow Kah Lok, a final-year house officer, discussed the journey from housemanship to becoming a medical officer or specialist, outlining paths like pursuing a Master’s or additional qualifications such as MRCP or MRCS.

Dr. Eugene Vong, starting his housemanship, explained the Examination for Provisional Registration (EPR) for foreign graduates, covering its components—the written exam and OSCE—and emphasized thorough preparation and the Malaysian Medical Council‘s registration process, including Primary Source Verification (PSV).

Dr. Goh Yi Ling, in her second year of housemanship, shared insights on managing the workload and stress, highlighting the six required rotations in key departments. She encouraged wellness, teamwork, and seeking learning opportunities.

Overall, the seminar equipped foreign medical graduates with practical advice and confidence to start their medical careers in Malaysia.
